Delays expected along Pacific Coast Highway through weekend

Share

Traffic along Pacific Coast Highway between the Mulholland Highway and Las Posas Road in Camarillo will be subject to delays throughout the weekend as CalTrans installs barriers to prevent falling debris from blocking the road.

The 10-mile stretch of coastal highway will be subject to one-way traffic controls while a contractor installs K-rails and rock fencing along the road’s steeper canyons, said CalTrans spokeswoman Lauren Wonder.

The Camarillo Springs fire burned foliage that secured the slopes above the highway, and crews have been clearing debris from the road since Friday. The highway reopened at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and escorts have ended.

Wonder encouraged drivers to use caution on the road this weekend, as possible rain could bring down additional debris. Motorists can use Highway 101 as an alternate route.
