All five teens killed in a Memorial Day car wreck in Newport Beach died as a result of traumatic injuries, according to autopsy results released Thursday.

The single-car crash on Jamboree Road was so violent that the Infiniti in which they were riding was torn in half after slamming into a tree and four of the passengers were hurled onto the roadway, officials said.

Toxicology tests, performed on all five victims as a matter of procedure, won’t be available for several weeks.

The high school students, who were reportedly headed to the beach at about 5:20 p.m. Monday, were killed when the car veered into the center divider, struck a tree and burst into blames.

The 2008 Infiniti was driven by Abdulrahman M. Alyahyan, 17. Alyahyan; Nozad Al Hamawendi; 17, Ceclia Zamora, 17; and sisters Aurora Cabrera, 16, and Robin Cabrera, 17, died as a result of the crash.

The passengers all attended Irvine High School, while Alyahyan attended University High School in Irvine.

Officials with the Department of Motor Vehicles said Alyahyan did not have a driver’s license but had a pending application.

He received a traffic citation April 20 for violating the terms of his provisional license, and having a modified exhaust system and tinted windows that obscured the driver’s view.

Newport Mayor Keith Curry said he had been told the car may have been traveling in excess of 100 mph. Police did not confirm that figure.
