Luis Merlos was taking pictures under the Santa Monica Pier when he met a young woman doing the same thing. Noticing how the lighting made for the perfect silhouette, he asked the fellow photographer if he could take her picture.
“I saw the pose in my head and told her to lean on the pier and raise her leg like a ballerina,” said Merlos, who used his iPhone 4S. “This is a prime example of how Instagram can unite people and help can create artwork at any given moment.”
