O.C. soccer referee who molested three boys gets prison term
A Huntington Beach youth soccer referee who molested three boys -- one of whom he lured on Facebook -- was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison.
Jorge Diosdado Serafin, 31, of Anaheim was sentenced after pleading guilty Oct. 15 to molesting the minors at his apartment and in the apartment complex parking lot.
At the time of the crimes, Serafin was a referee for Huntington Beach’s Oakview Soccer League, the Orange County district attorney’s office said in a statement.
In 2012, Serafin messaged a 15-year-old boy on Facebook, twice inviting the youth to meet him in the parking lot of his apartment complex, where he molested the boy.
On Jan. 10 2013, Serafin invited a 14-year-old boy who lived in his neighborhood to use the computer in his apartment. Authorities said the soccer referee touched the youth inappropriately.
Later in the day, authorities said, Serafin molested a 10-year-old boy he had also invited to his apartment.
Serafin pleaded guilty to three felony counts of oral copulation of a minor under the age of 16, one felony count of committing a lewd act on a child and one felony count of committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14.
Serafin was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
