Reader Photo: Venice tricks

Share

When it comes to photography, David Ingraham normally prefers shooting downtown Los Angeles. But when smog hovers in the Angeleno air, he heads to the coast to take advantage of the light from clearer skies.

Last month he headed to Venice Beach with the goal of capturing some symmetry. He focused on the palm trees, whose shadows were forming a geometric shape.

“The challenge was to try and capture a skateboarder crossing in just the right spot,” he said. “I like how the two palm-tree shadows echo the positioning of his legs.”

Ingraham made the photo using his iPhone 4S with an Olloclip fisheye attachment on Nov. 17.
