Shift into holiday shopping mode with a Costa Mesa hotel deal that lets you hit the malls in Orange County, then spend the night for as little as $110.

The deal: The Costa Mesa special, available at nine hotels through Dec. 30, includes nightly dining certificates of $20 and a $30 check to defray the cost of gas.

The restaurants: Dining certificates may be used at 20 Costa Mesa restaurants, including Pinot Provence, Lawry’s Carvery and Wolfgang Puck in South Coast Plaza.

Details: Guests receive $20-a-night dining certificates upon check-in; they receive a check for $30 per reservation to defray travel expenses by mail after their stay.
