Son of former ‘Real Housewife’ pleads not guilty to attempted murder in Costa Mesa shooting

The son of a former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star pleaded not guilty Monday to three counts of attempted murder in connection with a shooting at a Costa Mesa home last month, according to Orange County Superior Court records.

Joshua Waring, son of ex-”Housewife” Lauri Peterson, is accused of shooting at three people after a disagreement, according to police.

Authorities allege that Waring, 27, arrived at the house in the 2900 block of Babb Street around 2:30 a.m. June 18 and fired at the group three to nine times.

One of the bullets hit a 35-year-old man in the lower torso. He survived, according to police.

Waring was arrested about eight hours after the shooting, following a police chase in Santa Ana, according to Costa Mesa police.

Waring, a San Juan Capistrano resident, is being held in Orange County Jail with bail set at $1 million, according to Sheriff’s Department records. He is due back in court for a hearing Aug. 19.

Waring has had previous run-ins with the law, including felony drug convictions and several misdemeanor convictions, including hit-and-run, battery and resisting a peace officer.

Peterson was a cast member of the Bravo reality TV series “The Real Housewives of Orange County” from its debut in 2006 until 2008, when she left the show to deal with her son’s problems, according to Bravo.
