A homeowner in a Dallas suburb has drawn the attention of national media and local authorities after decorating his town home like a hazardous Ebola zone for Halloween.

James Faulk of University Park wears a hazmat suit when doing interviews with reporters on his lawn, which is strewn with hazardous waste drums, medical waste bags and caution tape.

The set looks real and has attracted the attention of police.

“He is not breaking any laws or ordinances, but the cops were called, and they did go there,” Steve Mace, spokesman for the city of University Park, told the Los Angeles Times. “We know some are going to find this not in good taste.”

The first U.S. case of Ebola was diagnosed in Dallas. That patient subsequently died and two nurses who treated him contracted the virus.

Faulk could not be reached for comment, but he told local station Fox4 on Thursday that people who are offended needed to lighten up.

“I just love Halloween. When I first heard about Ebola, I was scared. I hope people can get a laugh out of it,” Faulk said.

Faulk spent about $150 and worked more than four hours decorating his home, Fox4 reported.

And he is not done yet. Faulk told reporters he is planning to add to the display.
