Readers React: Drop the drones
To the editor: If we want to keep hobby drones out of the air in dangerous situations such as wildfires (and I’m one who does), we have to eliminate the reasons hobbyists want to get this footage. (“Drone sightings curtail air drops in Lake fire battle,” June 26)
News media, particularly TV, should quit encouraging and rewarding amateurs for disaster videos, either from the air or the ground.
Emergency crews should not have to deal with technology-equipped looky-loos when they are trying to save lives and property.
