Readers React: Hillary Clinton’s childish email excuse

Share

To the editor: Looks like the State Department’s inspector general took Hillary Clinton to the proverbial woodshed for breaking the rules when she used private email for government business. (“State Department audit faults Hillary Clinton on email security,” May 25)

Even more disenchanting, Clinton’s aides have justified her misdeed by implying how “consistent her email practices were with those of other secretaries and senior officials.”The last time I heard that refrain was when, as a school principal, students would tell me, “The other kids are doing it too.”

Not being faithful to rules, especially when a person promises solemnly to obey them, is disappointing and puts the people at risk.
