The (current) official lineup of the GOP convention

Share

TAMPA, Fla. -- Everyone knows the big names who will be getting face time on the stage of the Republican National Convention this week. The nominees of course. Some of the larger, ahem, Republican governors. And rising party stars.

Plenty of lesser known Republican lights will have a turn as well, and some you might not have expected.

The conservative actress Janine Turner, star of the 1990s TV hit “Northern Exposure,” will speak on Tuesday evening, though not in prime time. (Bonus factoid: Mitt Romney strategist Stuart Stevens wrote a couple of “Northern Exposure” episodes, according to the Internet Movie Database.)

On Thursday, the Romneys’ youngest son, Craig, will address the delegates, just after former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, appear together.

Those with a really short attention span may want to reserve Monday for convention viewing. Due to what Romney strategist Russ Schriefer called the “weather event” bearing down on the region -- which everyone else is calling “Isaac” -- the Monday portion of the convention has been severely truncated. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is expected to gavel the session to order, and soon thereafter, gavel it closed.

“It will be a very quick event,” said Schriefer in a call with reporters on Sunday. “If the session lasts more than five minutes I would be surprised.”

Here is the most recent lineup for three days of the Republican convention, though depending on what happens with Isaac, it’s subject to change:
