‘Hamilton’ tickets set to go on sale this week

“Hamilton” fans, here comes your shot.

The smash-hit Broadway musical’s touring presenter has just announced that tickets to the show’s much-anticipated Jan. 6-28 engagement at the San Diego Civic Theatre will go on sale next week.

There are several important dates to keep in mind: First, Oct. 26 (Thursday), when tickets will be available through Ticketmaster Verified Fan (an anti-scalping program) starting at 10 a.m.

It’s crucial to know, though, that you first must preregister with Verified Fan by 10 a.m. tomorrow, Oct. 24. You’ll then need to receive a code back in order to purchase tickets Oct. 26. (Those who’ve been selected should hear back via email Oct. 25.)

The Verified Fan presale will be online-only at https://hamiltonsd.tmverifiedfan.com.

The other important date is Oct. 27 (Friday), which is the general “Hamilton” on-sale date. Tickets will be available that day — presuming there are still some left — starting at 10 a.m. at broadwaysd.com, (619) 570-1100 or at the Civic Theatre box office, 1100 Third Ave. downtown.

There is a ticket purchase limit of four tickets per household. Prices are $75-$195, with a select number of $595 premium seats available.

There also will be a lottery for 35 orchestra-section seats at $10 for all performances. Details will be announced closer to the run dates.

Unlike the tour’s previous stops in San Francisco and Los Angeles (where “Hamilton” is running through December), there will be no presale for American Express cardholders.

“Hamilton,” in case you’ve been living on Venus for the past couple of years, is the Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning sensation about the Revolutionary War hero, statesman and “$10 founding father” Alexander Hamilton.

Writer-composer-lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda’s boundary-busting, diversity-championing musical invokes history, hip-hop and a multicultural cast to explore Hamilton’s extraordinary life and his infamous confrontation with onetime friend Aaron Burr in a fatal 1804 duel.

The show (based on Ron Chernow’s biography) won 11 Tony Awards last year, and takes in such stirring numbers as “My Shot,” “It’s Quiet Uptown” and “The Room Where It Happens.”

While San Diego lottery details have yet to be announced, you’d be wise to download the “Hamilton” mobile app, which has offered a handy way to enter the digital lottery during the L.A. run.

The app also offers such fun features as a “#HamCam” with filters that let users put themselves into “Hamilton” costumes.
