Obama’s 2010 campaign: ‘Stakes higher’

Share

President Barack Obama, who won election to the White House with the help of a wave of younger voters, including some who had never voted before, is issuing a rallying call for those forces as his party prepares for bruising midterm elections this year.

Three years ago, Obama says in the video appeal to supporters today, “We set out on an incredible journey to change this country for the better.... Because of you, we are making the change that our nation so desperately needs.’’

This includes the “historic’ healthcare legislation, the economic stimulus bill and putting the nation’s economy “back on the path to prosperity.’’

“Despite everything we’ve done, our work isn’t finished,’’ he says. This year, he tells supporters in a party-circulated YouTube clip, “the stakes are higher than ever.’’
