Laguna Food Pantry names its 10th board member

The Laguna Food Pantry has its 10th board member — a Laguna Beach resident who was the organization’s bookkeeper for seven years.

The board recently voted for Kristin Lewis, vice president and leasing agent for the Woloson Co., a family-run commercial real estate firm, to join its decision-making ranks, according to a news release.

“Kristin helped us immensely during her seven-year tenure of keeping our numbers straight,” pantry board Chairman Korey Jorgensen said in a news release. “The fact that she steps onto the board with a great deal of familiarity with the pantry is only one of the many reasons we’re so pleased she accepted our request to join us. Kristin is quietly dynamic and has a keen sense of what can work for us as our organization grows.”

Anne McGraw, owner of Anne’s Bookkeeping and a candidate for city treasurer in this fall’s election, took Lewis’ place in managing the books in April.

Every weekday, the pantry, at 20652 Laguna Canyon Road, collects and distributes 2,000 pounds of free, fresh groceries to people from low-income households, at least half of which have babies and young children.

The pantry is open from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. Volunteers are welcome.
