In an opening day exhibition game at Ocean View Little League Saturday, the Yankees used a late surge to upend the Red Sox, 10-6, in a Majors division action.

Chad Lux, Bradley Navarro, Aaron Palacios and Isaac Ballinas each pitched one inning and combined were equally as stingy, allowing only one run between them.

The last two innings ,however belonged to the offenses. The Yankees cashed in on extra-base hits by Andrew Bentley and Kota Nakamura to score four runs in the fifth. The Red Sox rallied for two runs in the bottom-half of the fifth which was highlighted by a two-out double by Ethan Idnani that scored Kristion Amos (who singled) and Micah Fox.

The Yankees responded in the sixth by using a hit by Jake Alvarez and several walks to score five more runs. The Red Sox came back with a three-run bottom-half of the frame that featured a double by Navarro and singles from Lux and Adam Baggeta.

Other notable performances in the game included Daniel Kotkosky who opened the game with a sharply-hit double and later scored. Palacios was the lone Red Sox to get a hit off the over-powering Hurtado, a double in the second inning.
