Chris Paul and J.J. Redick combined for 42 points to help the Clippers defeat the Charlotte Hornets, 97-83, on Saturday afternoon at Staples Center.

Paul had 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists while Redick contributed 17 points.

Add the 19 points by reserve guard Jamal Crawford, and it showed how dominant the Clippers’ backcourt was in helping them extend their winning streak to eight games.

The Clippers’ defense and the play of center DeAndre Jordan were two more reasons why the Hornets lost their sixth consecutive game.
