The New York Mets have more players who come from the Los Angeles area than the Dodgers. Here are short profiles on them:

Lucas Duda: The power-hitting first baseman was born in Fontana and played for Riverside Arlington High and USC. Chosen in the seventh round of the 2007 draft, Duda has hit 57 home runs over the last two seasons, second in the National League in that span. On July 29, Duda became the 11th Met to hit three home runs in one game.

Travis d’Arnaud: The catcher was born in Long Beach, went to Lakewood High and was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the first round (37th overall) of the 2007 draft. D’Arnaud sat out half of the season because of a broken hand, but has hit 12 home runs in 56 games since returning.

Erik Goeddel: Drafted out of UCLA in the 24th round of the 2010 draft, the right-hander has a 2.43 ERA in 35 games with the Mets. Goeddel was a top reliever on the Bruins team that advanced to the 2010 College World Series.

Addison Reed: Born in Montclair, Reed attended Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos High before attending San Diego State. He was chosen by the Chicago White Sox in the third round of the 2010 draft and acquired by the Mets from Arizona at the trade deadline this season. With the Mets, he is 1-1 with one save.
