Yasiel Puig’s future is so bright, he has to wear shades

Do they come with bumper guards or anything?

Yasiel Puig, a major leaguer all of two months now, has landed an endorsement deal, and it’s just too cool.

The contract is with the Italian high-tech sunglasses maker Rudy Project.

The high-energy Puig, 22, is wearing the wraparound-style performance sunglasses on the field – but wait, there’s more!

In addition to the Magster ($234.99) sunglasses Puig wears while playing, Rudy Project also boasts you can purchase the aviation-style sunglasses Puig “can be seen relaxing in,” the Skymajor ($259.99). And “If he is in the mood to make a bright impression, Puig has been known to sport the new Ultimatum Shock” sunglasses (only $109.99).

Rudy Project is best known for its sunglasses and helmets in the running and cycling fields, and this is apparently its first foray into baseball.

Meanwhile, Puig continues to take the baseball world by storm. Both the National League player and rookie of the month in June, his biggest obstacle seems his penchant for running into outfield walls.

This doesn’t figure to be his last endorsement deal, assuming he can avoid injury. And, oh yeah, his sunglasses are now available at e-rudy.com, your favorite optometrist office or at running and cycling stores near you.

And be cool.
