Maybe the Dodgers didn’t come out of Tuesday’s brawl with the Diamondbacks unscathed after all.

Phenom Yasiel Puig, scheduled to bat cleanup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, was scratched from the lineup with what the Dodgers called a strained right shoulder.

There was no word on how he injured the shoulder.

Puig was heavily involved in Tuesday’s brawl but did not appear injured. He had tried a head-first slide into first Saturday that had initially caused some concern over his shoulder, but he did not miss any time.

Puig took one round of batting practice Wednesday before retreating to the trainer’s room. The Dodgers moved Alex Castellanos into right field to replace him, and moved Jerry Hairston Jr. up into the cleanup spot.

In his first nine games, Puig is batting .471 with four homers and 10 RBI. He was ejected Tuesday for his role in the brawl.

The Dodgers said his nose, which took an Ian Kennedy pitch fastball off the end Tuesday, was fine.
