There’s something strange going on in Woodland Hills. There’s unidentified flying objects spotted on the football field at El Camino Real High.

It’s called footballs flying through the air, and it hasn’t happened very often in recent years.

“What’s wrong with them?” Birmingham Coach Jim Rose asked. “They’re throwing 30 times a game.”

Coach Kevin Williams has abandoned the double-wing for a no-huddle attack that saw quarterback Adam Blythe pass for 371 yards against Banning. That’s as many yards as El Camino Real used to get passing in five games. He has 1,319 yards passing this season.

In the same game, linebacker Darian Cohen had 30 tackles.

The Conquistadores are 4-1 going into their West Valley League opener on Friday against Birmingham.

Blythe and Cohen are scheduled to appear on the SoCal Prep Report on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on LA36. Before their interview, each offered some thoughts on what’s happening to the Conquistadores this season (see above video).
