Football: Trey Tinsley shows promise at QB for El Toro
Trey Tinsley, the son of former USC quarterback Scott Tinsley, is a 6-foot-3 junior quarterback at El Toro who has been tabbed to take over for Conner Manning, now at Utah.
On Saturday at the Huntington Beach passing tournament, Tinsley showed off an arm with lots of potential. Although El Toro was hit hard from graduation, Tinsley should be able to keep the passing success going, especially with the return of receiver Dominic Collins.
“It’s unbelievable what he taught me,” Tinsley said of Manning.
Tinsley served as Manning’s backup and is using the summer to gain more experience.
Coach Robert Frith said he has confidence in Tinsley’s ability to take over.
