Up next for the Kings: Thursday vs. St. Louis

Where: Staples Center.
On the air: TV: FS West; Radio: 1150.
Records: Kings 36-25-12, Blues 46-19-8.
Record vs. Blues: 2-1.
Update: Kings radio play-by-play man and stat guru Nick Nickson did some serious number crunching Wednesday, determining that since Feb. 25 the Kings are the highest-scoring squad in the Western Conference. That, of course, nicely coincides with the arrival of Jeff Carter in the trade with Columbus. In that 12-game stretch, the Kings are averaging 3.5 goals per game. Kings captain Dustin Brown has recorded points in 11 of the last 12 games, scoring five goals and 16 points during that run. The Kings are on a season-high five-game winning streak. They last won six consecutive games in the 2010-11 season, starting on Oct. 28, and the streak ended Nov. 15 against the Sharks. The Blues played at Anaheim on Wednesday and started goalie Jaroslav Halak, so it is possible Brian Elliott will get the start against the Kings.
