Line: Utah State by 6 1/2.

Series: First meeting.

Story line: Utah State goes for its fourth straight bowl victory and a fifth straight season with a winning record. It would be the Aggies’ longest streak of winning seasons since the early 1970s. Akron has appeared in one bowl game, in 2005, when the Zips lost to Memphis in the Motor City Bowl.

No. 24 Temple (10-3) vs. Toledo (9-2)

When: 4 p.m. PST (ESPN)

Where: Boca Raton, Fla.

Line: Temple by 2

Series: Toledo, 7-3

Story line: Both programs established themselves as serious top-25 contenders this season with wins over Power Five conference teams and were at the top of their respective conference standings. Toledo’s 35-30 loss to Western Michigan forced a three-way tie for the Mid-American Conference West Division title and Northern Illinois advanced to the conference championship game as a result of winning the tiebreaker. Temple lost to Houston, 24-13, in the AAC title game, so bragging rights in the final rankings is at stake.
