UCLA recruiting is gaining momentum as signing day approaches.

Cornerback Elijah Gates announced his commitment to the Bruins on Monday.

“I was so nervous,” Gates said after he put on a UCLA hat during a ceremony at Buena Park High. An Oregon hat also was on the table.

Gates, 5 feet 11 and 170 pounds, is the fourth recruit to commit to UCLA in the last week.

Cornerback Morrell Osling from Lancaster Antelope Valley High, defensive lineman Odua Isibor from St. Mary’s High in Phoenix and offensive lineman Zack Sweeney from St. Thomas Aquinas High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. also committed.

Osling, 6-1 and 175 pounds, was committed to Colorado for six months before he switched to UCLA following an official visit to Westwood.
