Ducks give Bruce Boudreau a two-year extension

The Ducks signed Coach Bruce Boudreau to a two-year contract extension, which goes through the 2014-15 season. Boudreau was originally under contract through this upcoming season.

His record after taking over from Randy Carlyle on Nov. 30 was 27-23-8. Boudreau started the season with the Capitals and he had coached in Washington since 2007.

“Since joining the organization last November, Bruce has done an outstanding job with the team,” Ducks General Manager Bob Murray said. “He’s committed to us and determined to lead us back to the playoffs.”

Boudreau joked about picking the Kings to win the Western Conference. “But I’ve got to be honest, I’m not going to sit here and say I hope they win [the Cup],” he said. “It all depends on who their opponent is in the final, by the way.”

Washington? That could turn him into a Kings fan for a series.
