In an interview Monday on the “Today” show, Kerri Walsh-Jennings revealed that she was pregnant while competing during the London Olympics. Walsh-Jennings and her teammate, Misty May-Treanor, won the gold medal in women’s beach volleyball.

Walsh-Jennings said she was five weeks pregnant with her third child. She and husband Casey Jennings have a due date of April 9.

Walsh-Jennings said she didn’t know she was pregnant in London, but suspected she might be because she was “moody” during the Games. She said May-Treanor wondered why her teammate was so grouchy during the Games and said as a joke, “You’re probably pregnant.”

How right she was.

“I thought it could have been the stress of the Games, and travel kind of throws your schedule off, but I knew,” Walsh-Jennings said. “At some point, you’re late and then you start feeling something. And I definitely started feeling something in London.”

And now she is dealing with that joy of expectant motherhood: morning sickness.

“This little one is kicking my butt,” she said. “The first two were pretty easy, but with this one, I’m sick every day. I’ve got some awesome acne. I just feel different.”
