USC safety T.J. McDonald chosen in third round by St. Louis Rams
USC safety T.J. McDonald was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the third round of the NFL draft with the 71st overall pick.
McDonald, the son of former All-Pro safety Tim McDonald, was the second USC player drafted. The Buffalo Bills selected receiver Robert Woods in the second round with the 41st pick.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound McDonald intercepted two passes and led the Trojans with 112 tackles last season.
McDonald joins a Rams team coached by former USC defensive back Jeff Fisher.
