The 68-team field is set for the centennial edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup soccer tournament, with the Galaxy, Chivas USA and other Major League Soccer clubs again included.

The single-elimination event features 34 professional teams overall, including those from the lower-tier North American Soccer League and USL Pro, along with 34 amateur clubs.

The drawing to determine the initial matchups and game locations is expected later this week, according to the tournament’s website. The first round starts May 14.

MLS teams don’t enter the Open Cup until the third round of play, which is expected to start May 28. The final round is expected to occur in early October.

The Galaxy has won the Open Cup in 2001 and 2005, and the team also reached the final round in 2002 and 2006.

In addition, Galaxy Head Coach Bruce Arena won the Open Cup in 1996 -- the first year MLS teams began participating in the tournament -- when he was head coach of D.C. United.
