Teen who ran onto field at All-Star game could face jail time

Dylan McCue-Masone, 18, may face some harsh penalties for running onto Citi Field during Tuesday’s All-Star game.

McCue-Masone could face up to a year in jail and $6,000 in fines after he was arraigned on charges of interrupting a professional sporting event.

He pleaded not guilty Wednesday and is scheduled to be back in court Sept. 11.

McCue-Masone apparently regrets the stunt, according to a tweet he wrote Friday morning.

Ironically, it was through Twitter that he got into the mess in the first place.

McCue-Masone tweeted Tuesday that he would run on the field if he got 1,000 retweets, and when he did, he decided to make good on his promise.

So he told his father that he had to go to the bathroom. (His poor father even gave him $20 to get a snack.) Then McCue-Masone ran onto the field.

He ran toward second base before being tackled by a security official who is a former mixed martial arts fighter with a black belt in Judo, according to the New York Daily News.

When McCue-Masone’s father, Bob Mason, 50, saw his son get body-slammed onto the field, he had two thoughts.

“My ex-wife is going to kill me,” he told the New York Daily News.

Then he couldn’t help but feel a tinge of pride.

“He made it to second base, which is pretty far,” he said. “You don’t want to glorify it. He’s going to find out the hard way.”
