Look, Gordon Gee opened his mouth again.

The controversial Ohio State president is back in the news after it was revealed he made derogatory comments about Notre Dame and Catholics.

At a December meeting of the school’s Athletic Council, Gee said Notre Dame wasn’t invited to the Big Ten because “those damn Catholics” can’t be trusted.

The Associated Press obtained a recording of Gee’s remarks via a public records request.

Gee also took jabs at the Southeastern Conference.

“You tell the SEC when they learn to read or write, then they can figure out what we’re doing,” Gee said.

Gee apologized for his latest remarks.

“The comments I made were just plain wrong, and in no way do they reflect what the university stands for,” Gee said in a statement to the AP. “They were a poor attempt at humor and entirely inappropriate.”

Gee should probably not pursue a career in comedy.

He once had to apologize to the real “Sisters of the Poor” in Ohio after he said his school’s football team didn’t play a schedule that included “the sisters of the Poor.”

Gee also defended coach Jim Tressel at the height of a scandal that led to Tressel’s ouster and major probation for the football program.

“I’m hopeful the coach doesn’t dismiss me,” Gee said.

Tressel was forced out three months later after it was determined he lied to the NCAA about his knowledge of a serious rules violation.
