Damien left-hander Nick Lodolo selected by Pirates 41st overall
Damien left-hander Nick Lodolo was selected No. 41 overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Lodolo was the third Southern California prospect taken in Thursday’s Major League Baseball draft. The Pirates’ selection came in the first compensation round.
Lodolo, a 6-foot-6 18-year-old, throws a fastball in the low 90s.
The Pirates’ bonus allotment for the pick is roughly $1.58 million, though both sides can negotiate for a better figure.
Lodolo is a Texas Christian commit.
