Arizona Cardinals Coach Bruce Arians, who had called Julius Thomas’ chop block Sunday the worst play he’d seen in 37 years of coaching, had no reaction after it was reported the Denver Broncos’ Pro Bowl tight end was fined for the incident.

A person with knowledge of the penalty said Thomas was fined $8,286 for his chop block on Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell. The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the fine hadn’t been announced by the NFL. The fine, upon which Thomas did not comment, was the first of the tight end’s four-year career.

In other Cardinals news, quarterback Carson Palmer said that his injured shoulder is feeling no negative reaction to the previous day’s throwing session, and he hopes to be able to go through a full practice by Thursday or Friday.
