Steelers sign kicker Boswell, release Scobee

The Steelers have signed free agent place kicker Chris Boswell and released Josh Scobee.tmpplchld The news comes two days after Scobee missed two field goals in the 23-20 overtime loss to the Ravens Thursday night, including a 41-yard attempt with 1:05 remaining in the regulation.tmpplchld The Steelers traded away a sixth-round draft choice for Scobee before the season began and are on the hook for his salary for the remainder of the season, but they are moving on to their fourth kicker this season because he missed four of his 10 attempts and also missed an extra point.tmpplchld The Steelers signed Scobee after preseason injuries claimed Shaun Suisham and Garrett Hartley.tmpplchld Boswell has never kicked in a regular-season game.
