Update: Chivas USA started the new season the same way it ended the last one — with a game without a win. The team’s 3-0 loss to Columbus extended Chivas’ franchise-record winless streak to 15 games. Not that anyone noticed since attendance was announced at 7,121, though observers said the “crowd” was far smaller. Three days after the match, Chivas added forward Jose Manuel Rivera and defender Daniel Antunez to its roster. FC Dallas beat the Colorado Rapids in its opener on Jackson Goncalves’ goal in the 11th minute.
