WWE star Jerry Lawler arrested on suspicion of domestic assault
WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler and his girlfriend were arrested in East Memphis, Tenn., on Friday on domestic assault charges.
According to a Memphis TV station, police were called to Lawler’s home after neighbors reported a loud fight between Lawler, 66, and Lauryn McBride, 27.
McBride said Lawler hit her in the head and put an unloaded gun on the table and told her to kill herself.
Lawler said McBride scratched him in the face and kicked him in the groin. He said that McBride was drunk and that she was the one who brought out the gun.
Police arrested both of them.
Lawler, a commentator on WWE’s “Smackdown” show, was suspended indefinitely by the company.
“WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.”
