Clippers’ Darren Collison plans on practicing despite knee injury
Clippers backup point guard Darren Collison said he planned on practicing Sunday after missing Friday night’s exhibition game with a bruised left kneecap.
Despite saying he would play in the season opener Tuesday against the Lakers at Staples Center, Collison admitted he does have one big problem.
“I can’t really run, but I’m about to find out in practice,” Collison said.
For a speedy player like Collison, who wore a black sleeve on his knee, that’s not a good thing.
Collison said he was about “80%” healed.
The 6-foot Collison said he “banged knees” Wednesday night with Utah’s 6-8 Gordon Haywood.
“I’m getting there,” Collison said. “It’s one step at a time.”
