Mexican teams Cruz Azul, Pumas to meet at Coliseum

Mexican league rivals Cruz Azul and Pumas UNAM will meet at the L.A. Coliseum on June 30 in one semifinal of the SocioMX Cup soccer tournament. Morelia will meet Monterrey in the other semifinal in Austin, Texas, with the winners advancing to the July 5 final at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

“Cruz Azul has a great fan base in the United States,” Agustin Manzo, the team’s sporting director, said in a release. “We have been participating in high competition and preparation games in the USA for various years and we are very happy to be able to participate in this Cup.”
