Tom Brady is back on the field for the New England Patriots, but the Deflategate controversy is not over.

The NFL is asking the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for an expedited hearing in its appeal of a federal judge’s decision to wipe out Brady’s suspension for his role in an alleged football-deflating scheme.

According to the Associated Press, NFL attorneys said in a filing Friday that it’s important for the league’s appeal to be resolved quickly because it pertains directly to how the NFL and players’ union work together under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Under the proposed schedule, oral arguments would be heard as early as January.
