Pac-12 media day: Marcus Mariota says game in Coliseum was ‘unreal’
Because of the Pac-12 Conference scheduling rotation, USC will not play Oregon during the regular season in 2013 or 2014,
“Unfortunately, we won’t be able to play USC,” Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota said Friday, “but if things work out, maybe well be able to play them in the championship game.”
In a media poll released Friday, Oregon was picked to finish first in the Pac-12 North division and to win the conference title.
USC was picked to finish third in the South division.
Last season, Mariota led Oregon to a 62-51 victory over USC at the Coliseum. The Ducks ammassed 730 yards against the Trojans, a USC record.
Mariota completed 20 of 23 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 96 yards.
“To be able to go to the Coliseum and play that game was pretty unreal,” Mariota said. “It was a crazy experience.”
