Rafael dos Anjos out of UFC 196 because of foot injury
Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has been scratched from his UFC 196 main event against featherweight champion Conor McGregor with a foot injury, an official with the organization said.
Dos Anjos missed a training session in Huntington Beach on Monday, and his coach explained to The Times that a doctor’s appointment was necessary.
The UFC is considering finding a replacement opponent for the charismatic Irishman McGregor.
The card also includes the first women’s bantamweight title defense by Holly Holm against former title challenger Miesha Tate.
