Reports of Rory McIlroy, Caroline Wozniacki split won’t go away

It seems the Irish press cannot get enough of Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki, publishing a new report that the sports power couple has split.

The Irish Independent quoted unnamed sources as saying the supposed rift came to a head over a photograph that Wozniacki posted on Twitter a few weeks ago, showing McIlroy asleep and not looking his best.

The couple has made a habit of chronicling their relationship on social media with tweets and snapshots.

But, more recently, reports of a “Wozzilroy” breakup have taken over the news. In August, McIlroy tweeted the anonymous sources had it all wrong, saying: “I’d love to know who this guy source is... Seems to pop up in the papers all the time and is wrong 99.9% of the time!”

This time, the Independent quoted a source as saying, “Yes they are over. It’s a difficult time for them both but it is for the best in the long run.”

Neither the Irish golfer nor the Danish tennis player responded to the latest report.
