Bat-flip revenge? Watch Rangers’ Rougned Odor punch Toronto’s Jose Bautista in the face

There are now two great highlights from the newly established Toronto Blue Jays-Texas Rangers rivalry.

Last year, Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista’s emphatic bat flip during the teams’ American League division series after hitting a three-run home run against the Rangers in the series-clinching game in Toronto.

On Sunday in Texas, Bautista again was at the center of this next great moment in the rivalry after making a hard slide into second baseman Rougned Odor as the fielder was making a play on a possible double-play ball.

Odor took offense at the slide and pushed Bautista, prompting the Blue Jay to raise his arms in an offensive stance as the two men came together.

Odor advanced the animosity between the two teams with a hard right to the left side of Bautista’s face, knocking his helmet off and, of course, prompting a bench-clearing brawl.

In the end, eight total players, coaches and managers were ejected from the game for various offenses including their involvement in the fight. Oh, and the Rangers won, 7-6.

These two teams won’t meet again this season unless it’s in the playoffs. One can only hope.
