UCLA’s Lonzo Ball and TJ Leaf made the midseason watch lists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, given to the national player of the year as selected by the U.S. Basketball Writers Assn., and the Wayman Tisdale Award, given to the nation’s top freshman.

Balloting for both awards will be conducted among USBWA members in March and the presentation of the Oscar Robertson Trophy will be held at the end of that month at the Final Four in Glendale, Ariz. The timing of the presentation of the Wayman Tisdale Award is to be announced.

Arizona’s Lauri Markkanen was the only other player from a Pac-12 Conference school among the 19 who made the list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy. Markkanen and Washington’s Markelle Fultz were among the 12 players who made the list for the Wayman Tisdale Award.

UCLA (19-2 overall, 6-2 Pac-12) fell five spots to No. 8 in the Associated Press ranking after its 96-85 loss to Arizona on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion. The Wildcats (18-2, 7-0) were ranked No. 7. Oregon was ranked No. 10 and USC was among the teams receiving votes.

USC plays host to UCLA on Wednesday night at the Galen Center after sweeping three games between the teams in one season last year for the first time since 1942.
