Update: Six of Washington State’s 11 losses this season have been by seven points or less, and that includes a two-point defeat to No. 6 Gonzaga. Senior Brock Motum, a 6-foot-10 forward, averages team highs of 18.3 points and 6.7 rebounds. He has scored in double figures in all 22 games this season and he is third in the Pac-12 in scoring and 14th in the conference in rebounding. Senior guard Mike Ladd has scored in double figures in nine of his last 10 games and is averaging 11.5 points. USC has been off more than a week since its biggest win of the season, a 75-71 overtime upset of UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. It immediately became the signature victory for interim coach Bob Cantu, who replaced the fired Kevin O’Neill in mid-January. In four of the five games Cantu has coached, USC has won or lost by five points or less; two games have gone to overtime.
