Update: Both teams tuned up for Pac-12 Conference play with tough nonconference victories. USC defeated Dayton, 63-61, in overtime. Stanford defeated Lafayette, 65-59, as Rosco Allen, a 6-foot-9 freshman from Budapest, Hungary, scored nine of his season-high 11 points in the final five minutes. Allen was a high school teammate of UCLA’s Shabazz Muhammad at Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. Dwight Powell, a 6-10 junior, leads the Cardinal in scoring (14.5) and is second in rebounding (7.2).Chasson Randle, a sophomore guard from Rock Island, Ill., is second in scoring (13.8) and leads the Cardinal in assists with 45. Eric Wise, who did not play the last 101/2 minutes of the win over Dayton because of two technical fouls, leads USC in scoring (11.4).
