Player: Kevin Scott
Position: Defensive line
Number: 53
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 315 pounds

High school: Scott recorded 15 sacks as a senior, his only season. USC coaches identified Scott at a summer camp and offered him a scholarship the month before national signing day. He said he considered offers from Miami, Mississippi and Purdue.
USC defensive line breakdown: Scott, like fellow freshmen Jacob Daniel, Noah Jefferson, Rasheem Green and Christian Rector, joins a position group in search of production after the departure of Leonard Williams. Antwaun Woods, Claude Pelon and Delvon Simmons are returning starters. Cody Temple, Greg Townsend Jr. and Malik Dorton also return, along with Kenny Bigelow, who sat out last season while recovering from knee surgery.
Season prediction for Scott: Will probably redshirt.
