Pullard, a fifth-year senior, has a team-best 59 tackles, 2 1/2 for losses. The Trojans play Washington State on Saturday at Pullman, Wash.
The 6-foot-1, 235-pounds Pullard is a four-year starter and a team captain.
Pullard, who came to USC from Crenshaw High, had six tackles in last week’s 24-21 loss to Utah.
UCLA’s Myles Jack and Eric Kendricks also are semifinalists.
Finalists will be announced Nov. 24, the winner Dec. 9.
USC’s Chris Claiborne won the Butkus Award in 1998.
