USC has received a letter of intent from Jacob Daniel, the school announced.
Player: Jacob Daniel
Position: Defensive lineman
Height: 6 feet 4
Weight: 310
High School: Fresno Clovis North
Verbally committed: May 13, 2014
Schools considered: Fresno State, Oregon and Washington
Notes: Army All-American… was once committed to Washington… sidelined part of his junior season after knee surgery.
Daniel on signing with USC:
“I started to realize how big of a program I was entering -- the opportunity, alumni. I honestly feel I can be a big part of that team. We’re off probation and we’re going to rise back to the top. I felt it would be a cool story to tell once we’re back on top. I have a really good relationship with the coaches. The only one I knew was Coach Sark. One of my original choices was Washington. I just liked the whole offense and the kind of coach he was.”
