USC coaches began in-home visits with recruits on Sunday, the first day of the NCAA contact period.

Linebackers coach Peter Sirmon met with Gardena Serra linebacker John Houston.

Defensive line coach Chris Wilson met with Serra defensive end Rasheem Green.

“It was real fun,” said Green, adding that he would make an official visit to USC in January.

San Marcos Mission Hills defensive back Dechaun Holiday hosted defensive backs coach Keith Heyward.

“It went great,” Holiday said. “I’m glad he was able to make it, it meant a lot.”

Holiday has not taken any official visits. He said he is “leaning toward” Pac-12 schools and could announce a commitment at the Army All-American Bowl in January or on National Signing Day in February.

Receivers coach Tee Martin visited Riverside Community College receiver Isaac Whitney.

Whitney said his favorite schools are USC, West Virginia, Washington State and Florida. He said he could make a commitment “maybe in the next week or two.”

USC commit De’Quan Hampton was scheduled to visit with Martin, but Hampton said the visit was rescheduled.
