LAUSD events being changed because of heat
Track and field league finals scheduled this week involving Los Angeles Unified School District schools could be moved to later starting times because of the heat.
The East Valley League finals have been switched to Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Birmingham. The Western League finals will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Fairfax.
A district athletic spokesman said issues involving buses have to be worked out.
Schools are supposed to monitor the heat index to decide whether to play events such as baseball games.
